Marie-Hélène Van Thuyne
Stop Motion Artist
SHORT SUMMARY
Hello! My name is Marie-Hélène.
From a very young age, I've had a passion for dolls and miniatures. During my high school years, I created my first miniature set and puppet, which led to my first stop-motion short. My passion for animation and admiration for big productions prompted me to study 3D animation at DAE in Belgium.
However, my love for artisanal hand-made objects brought me to RITCS, where I specialized in stop motion.

My dedication and talent have already resulted in two professional productions. During my internship in 2021, I had the opportunity to animate for the highly acclaimed and multi-awarded short film "The Miracle" by Nienke Deutz, produced by Beast Animation & Keplerfilm.
In 2023, I landed my first paid animation job working for BAFTA-awarded director Jaco van Dormael on his latest feature film, "On the Wings of Hermes." In this role, I was responsible for designing, cutting, and animating the paper Pegasus horses from the prologue.

My journey reflects my deep commitment to the craft of stop-motion animation, blending my technical skills with a profound love for hand-made artistry. My dedication is evident in the attention to detail and technicality in my latest, one shot, film, "JUDY1964."
